For the third time in a row "The Photo Loft" took amazing photos to use at Mrs America. It was so much fun shooting with Rhonda and Sylvia again. The gown was made available thanks to Head to Toe Boutique in Lafayette, LA- Nicki you are the best, thank you for all of your words of wisdom and encouragement. During this shoot Rhonda's precious children were there and I got to take some very special pictures with them- Becca is a future beauty queen in the making watch out Miss America!!! A very Special thank you to Kim and Sylvia for envisioning and creating the 2 page ad spread- it is more than I could have ever imagined! 2 weeks and counting till Tucson!!!

Miss Southwest Louisiana Pageant- prelim to Miss LA USA

I traveled to Lake Charles, LA on August 2, 2009 to attend the Miss/Teen SW LA USA pageant, a preliminary to Miss LA USA. It was so much fun to sit and watch instead of being on stage this time, the young ladies were all wonderful- Congrats to Valerie and Kelsi!

I had the priviledge of being an honorary captain at the last home game of the season for the Bossier City Battlewings. Gabriel and I had the opportunity to take the field prior to the game starting and participate in the coin toss. Gabe was so precious taking it all in, it had to be very overwhelming for a 3 year old to be out there- but he was fabulous! Also joining me was the Exterminators from the hit TV show VexCon on A&E. I also had a great time signing autographs prior to the game and meeting tons of wonderful people, especially the little ones! Special thanks to my wonderful in-laws for accompaning Gabriel and I while Tim was at the firestation. The Battlewings WON and are now in the playoffs- GO WINGS!

Metropolitan City Council Meeting Baton Rouge, LA

I was graciously invited to attend the July 22nd city council meeting in Baton Rouge, LA. To my surprise, it was proclaimed Mrs. Louisiana America- Jennifer McLain Armond Day for the community involvement as Mrs. LA. That evening I was in the presence of some young teen leaders who were being recognized for their outstanding committment to leadership. I also had the opportunity to meet two former LSU football players Marcus Spears now of the Dallas Cowboys and Michael Clayton of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They were being honored as well for their football camp that was held earlier this summer for the Baton Rouge area youth. It was also declared their day as well, but as an avid football fan, I was thrilled to share the day and the stage with them both.

I recently had the opportunity to visit with Tom Pace on the local radio station 1340AM here in NW LA and had some great conversations about the Mrs. America pageant, life in general, and of course MENC & skin cancer prevention. 2 topics very dear to my heart. We took a trip after Mrs. Louisiana to thank the staff and owners of Mosely and Hollard for Women in Lafayette, LA. The staff here are wonderful and made my shopping experience very enjoyable. Their clothes are FABULOUS!!! Thank you for providing me with my classy red interview suit and sassy opening number cocktail dress shown above. I look forward to working with the staff here in preparation for Mrs. America.
